Pam Stone

Actress, comedian and radio host, Pam Stone, is best known for her 7 seasons on the hit ABC sit-com, 'Coach,' portraying Coach Judy Watkins. As a comedian, she won The American Comedy Award for 'Best Female Stand-up,' performed at The White House, and made dozens of television appearances on such shows as 'The Tonight Show,' 'Oprah,' 'The Drew Carey Show,' Fifty Years of Funny Females,' 'Comic Strip Live,' 'Joan Rivers,' along with 3 Showtime Cable Specials.

Following a self-imposed vow to leave Hollywood before she turned 40, Stone followed her heart and her horses and moved south to a town of 2,000 in Upstate South Carolina where she accepted the offer to host her own radio show, 'The Pam Stone Show,' broadcasting on 107.9FM Charlotte, on the condition that she could host the show from an outbuilding behind her barn, fondly now remembered as 'The Unabomber Shack,' for its lack of plumbing facilities.

'The Pam Stone Show' became syndicated and ran for 5 years, garnering Stone 2 'Gracie Awards' for outstanding comedy content by a female broadcaster.

Stone's next endeavor was to begin writing a syndicated humor column for various regional newspapers, winning multiple SC Press Association Awards and in 2011 her first book, 'I Love Me A Turkey Butt Samwich' was a compilation of these columns, beloved by her readers.

Stone released her first novel, 'Girls Like Her,' in February 2017 to enthusiastic reviews from both professional critics and her readers. The book, written for the genre of contemporary women's fiction, focuses on a strong, mature, divorced woman, Lissie Merman and the challenging family dynamic that surrounds her as she attempts to finally embrace a life long dream that has been put on the back burner for years. 'Girls Like Her,' says Stone, "is an inspiring and empowering read for all women, as well as men, with relatable characters and a highly absorbing story." And yes, Stone adds, "there's a terrific romance within it as well!"

Reviewing 'Girls Like Her,' Steve Wong, for The Hendersonville Times, writes: "...A Class A family drama. Stone does a superb job keeping all of this straight for the reader and with moving the narrative right along. She changes character perspectives seamlessly and with apparent ease. Despite the need to create conflict and resolution for the storyline, Stone has crafted characters that are likeable and feel true to life. Readers may not like some of the things they do to each other, but we understand why they do it and forgive them. There are no bad guys or bad girls in this book — just realistic people playing the hand dealt them."

In her free time, Stone, a USDF bronze and silver medalist, continues to train and compete in the equestrian discipline of dressage and writes a regular column for 'Dressage Today' Magazine
