P.M. Smith

P. M. Smith (AKA Phyllis Smith Patterson) lives in rural Southern Indiana near her childhood home. She returned to her roots after living nearly a quarter century in Ohio, Florida and Kentucky. She resides in a renovated log cabin with her fiancé, two cats and a three-legged dog. The cabin had been used as a barn for sixty years and was in neglected condition before her fiancé restored it to comfortable home. She enjoys having her two daughters and three grandchildren near, as well as her large extended family.

Growing up in a blue-collar family of ten, with few advantages, entertainment required imagination. Writing and drawing became satisfying means of expression for her creative side. Brown paper grocery bags were generally in abundance and were found useful for sketching and drafting of stories and poetry. These budding “hobbies” blossomed into lifelong passions with the love for writing taking the prominent position in her pursuits.

The handwritten rough draft for Gabe’s Triumph was accomplished between the wash and dry cycles on weekend trips to the Laundromat.

The author is enthusiastically working on her fifth novel.
