Brian T. Shirley

I'm a stand up comedian who's been touring the U.S., Canada, The Bahamas and Japan for over twenty years. I love making people laugh and now I can do it without being in the room.

My first two books are meant to be a slant on philosophy, mixed in with some general silliness. I started writing comedic pieces in my early teens and continued into my days in the USAF. I managed to keep a lot of things I wrote during this peroid and that material was the basis for "Make Love Not Warts"& "Four Score and Seven Beers Ago...". They are different from my stand up routine as I don't use a lot of one liners in my act.

My 3rd book "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Club" was written upon request by the publisher Libboo. They saw some stories on my website and wanted me to make a book out of them. They are true to life stories from the road, an inside look at the crazy life we comedians lead.

BIG ANNOUCEMENT! " A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Club" is now a stage show. I've added stories from the book to my act and they are fast becoming fan favorites. The "Dave Ugly" stories get great laoughs and "My Perfect Hell Gig" gets an applause break at the end. Three of these stories are recorded LIVE! The book cover was included in a 2014 calendar!

You can see an interview with several well know authors and myself in a book that just came out in June 2012 entitled "Author Interviews with Author Ethen Carrell".

I'm also featured along with a fantastic group of authors in the ebook "The Write Balance" by D.Jean Quarles which came out in July 2012.

I have several short stories in the book "Intertwine" by Amgie Merriam.

I also have a short stories called "The Seers" in the SCI/FI/Horror Enzine "Schlock"

I have a short story called "Dog Gone" in the book "Read For Animals 2".

I have short stories published monthly in the "What's The Story?" publication as of May 2015

I have also created and host a WEB Series called "BTS On The Road" which shows what it's like to be a "Road Dog". This series brings "A Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Club" to life in it's own way.

Enjoy!
