William Knight

William Knight is recognised as one of the foremost speculative fiction and satire writers in New Zealand and the UK, and is a respected member of NZ Society of Authors and SpecFic NZ. He’s contributed to the Guardian, the Financial Times, the BBC, and many other publications in a career spanning over twenty years.

In the UK, he began his working life as a computer engineer but found that his wry observations of life and technology had an enthusiastic audience in newspapers and magazines.

His debut novel, The Donated, was a Red Ribbon winner in the Wishing Shelf Book awards and won acclaim as a ground-breaking speculative chiller. Following novels further explored the human cost of technological “progress”, pointing out both the horror (The Algorithm) and the humour (XYZ: Updating Jack Cooper).

William moved to NZ ten years ago with his family, where he continues to write.
