A retired Assistant District Attorney from the San Bernardino County California District Attorney's Office, Michael currently resides in his childhood hometown of Vero Beach, Florida. Aside from his writing, Michael and his lovely wife, Jennie, keep busy caring for their two rescue dogs; "Squirt", a five pound Morkie (Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier) and "Tater", a Boston Terrier.
As a career prosecutor, Michael spent the bulk of his years as a trial attorney where he tried in excess of 150 jury trials. With twenty of those jury trials being homicide cases. Michael completed his tenure as a trial attorney assigned to the office's prestigous Major Crimes Unit.
Prior to his retirement, Michael served in a management position as the office's Assistant District Attorney for Criminal Operations.He managed eight branch offices and 160 prosecutors. In this position, Michael was also responsible for reviewing all officer involved shooting reports submitted to the DA's office. It was gaining this level of expertise in the law of officer involved shootings that provided the catalyst for him to write Through These Eyes, with his co-author, Lt. Tom Bradford, of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
A graduate of The University of Alabama School of Law, Michael is an avid Crimson Tide sports fan.
