Michael Lemov is an author and lawyer who served as counsel to the House Commerce and Banking committees and as General Counsel to the National Commission on Product Safety. Prior to service with Congress he was a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. In addition to "People's Warrior," he has authored the "Consumer Product Safety Commission Regulatory Manual" (McGraw-Hill 1983)and numerous articles about consumer protection and the Freedom of Information Act. Mike received his B.A. from Colgate University and an LLB from the Harvard Law School. He is married to Penelope Lemov, a journalist and editor of Governing Magazine. He has two children; Rebecca, an Associate Professor of the History of Science at Harvard (and author of "World As Laboratory")and Douglas, Managing Director of Uncommon Schools, a charter school founder, who is the author of "Teach Like a Champion".
Mike,formerly a youth soccer coach for many years, enjoys playing tennis and riding his Cannondale road bike on country roads near Washington. He lives with Penelope in Bethesda, Maryland.
