Jason L. Levine, author of the recently published "Creature in the Patch," was an early member of Children's Television Workshop and twice was awarded the Public Relations Society of America's Silver Anvil for the work that introduced "Sesame Street" and "The Electric Company" to the nation's television viewers.

He has been writing throughout his career, which includes work as a newspaper (The Washington Evening Star) and wire service (UPI) journalist and bureau manager.

He was in the television industry for years (CBS News, ABC Television, Warner Bros. and Walt Disney Television). As an Apple certified consultant, he headed his own business providing assistance to Macintosh users, while at the same time writing and designing technical manuals and databases. For many years, he wrote a monthly computer-related column for Micro Publishing News.

Jason is an avid gardener, a rockhound, a lapidary and photographer. He likes dogs and cats and parakeets and enjoys cooking. Among his many rocks and minerals is a very special and rare (some might say magical) natural quartz crystal that comes to a point at both ends.

He is the father of two daughters and resides in California.
