Andrew Homer

Andrew Homer has written extensively on the Black Country, Birmingham and Shropshire. He is a former Secretary of the Black Country Society. His previous books include A Black Country Miscellany, Beer and Spirits, Haunted Hostelries of Shropshire, A Question of the Black Country and others. Andrew has presented lectures to a range of organisations over the years and appeared on local and national television. After a career as a College Lecturer Andrew worked as a Costumed Demonstrator at the Black Country Living Museum. Before retiring to Devon, he could be found explaining the history of the buildings and the stories of the people who helped forge the Black Country. When not involved in historical interpretation or writing Andrew enjoys investigating and collecting local ghost stories, particularly those which have historical connections.
