Elizabeth A Kern

I was born and raised on the northwest side of Chicago in the old Polish neighborhood I wrote about in WANTING TO BE JACKIE KENNEDY. My childhood home was about three miles from the site of the tragic fire at Our Lady of the Angels elementary school I wrote about in FIRE ANGELS.

Although I've lived in California for most of my adult life, my heart still beats for Chicago as well as for the San Francisco Bay Area. I received a B.S. degree in journalism from the University of Illinois and a Masters of Liberal Arts degree from Stanford University. After a fulfilling career managing Corporate Communications most recently at Apple, I retired to pursue a lifelong dream of writing historical fiction.

My husband, Lee, and I live in the gentle hills of Sonoma County, California.
