Robert McAnderson

Robert McAnderson, born in June 1948, has traversed an exceptionally diverse and impactful professional and personal journey. A foundation in engineering shaped his early years. Still, he soon transitioned to high-level sales and marketing roles at several multinational corporations. This career move would later become central to his life's work in coaching and authorship. Even as he excelled in these roles, Robert's career was punctuated by a forced early retirement due to health complications. This experience became the catalyst for his subsequent focus on well-being and self-development.

During his professional career, Robert became known as an innovative leader and educator in sales management. He authored a pioneering book in 2011, DNO The SEO Revolution, which introduced the methodology of Domain Name Optimisation—an SEO approach that guaranteed page-one rankings on Google by leveraging high-value keyword domain names. His success as a sales manager was recognised when his team exceeded sales targets, earning the prestigious Australian Sales Manager of the Year Award in 1989. This achievement later inspired his second book, Sales Management Coaching: A Winning Sales Team. These accomplishments are a testament to his belief in the transformative power of education, resilience, and forward-thinking strategies.

A significant turning point in McAnderson's personal life was his enduring battle with a series of debilitating health challenges, including leptospirosis, heart attack, hypertension, type-2 diabetes, kidney disease, and stage-4 prostate cancer. Rather than yielding to adversity, he used these events to fuel a remarkable personal turnaround. Over the past three years, he lost more than 40kg, achieved diabetic remission, restored kidney function after two decades, and was able to stop taking eleven prescription medications. His ability to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles has become a beacon of hope for many facing their health crises.

Robert's journey is anchored in the philosophy that "life is a gift, health is a choice, and choices have consequences". As a holistic health coach, entrepreneur, and speaker, he specialises in helping others rebalance their lives using what he calls the "12 components" of holistic health. He tailors his approach to empower individuals to transform their health, emphasising both the practical and psychological aspects of making healthier choices. His coaching and entrepreneurial ventures are a direct outgrowth of his own lived experience and evolving wisdom.

One of Robert's most significant recent achievements is his new book, Choices Have Consequences—Navigating Life's Path. This work explores the intricate relationship between the brain, health, and the subconscious drivers that shape everyday decisions. The book serves as a transformative guide, delving deeply into topics like character, values, goal setting, and the change process. McAnderson draws upon his personal narrative and coaching expertise to provide readers with actionable frameworks to support lasting personal growth and change.

Robert's legacy extends beyond his recovery, resonating with readers and coaching clients worldwide. He continues to advocate for the importance of hope, adaptability, and self-compassion in overcoming life's difficulties. Through his books, workshops, and public speaking, he champions the ripple effect of positive transformation, helping others break through subconscious barriers and realise their full potential.

Now in his late seventies, Robert remains actively engaged in writing, coaching, and public speaking.

He has just launched a sequel to his significant works and continues to inspire with his message that no obstacle is insurmountable when met with hope, wise choices, and resilience. Choices Have Consequences—Navigating Life's Path stands as a testament to his enduring belief that each of us can overcome the challenges in our life's path, regardless of our circumstances or age, by making the right choices.
