Andrea Jones is author of the award-winning Literary novels, the "Hook & Jill" Saga (Reginetta Press). Rich, witty, and immersive, the first four books of the "Hook & Jill" Saga have won 28 literary honors to date. Five books are planned for this Literary Fantasy series.
"Hook & Jill" is a serious parody of J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan story, and intended for adult readers. Jones questions the premise of Barrie's tale: Is it truly desirable to remain a child, or is it a greater adventure, after all, to grow up?
"Other Oceans: Book Two of the Hook & Jill Saga" carries us to the high seas on the pirate ship itself. It is an unabashed study in loyalty.
"Other Islands: Book Three of the Hook & Jill Saga" returns us to the Neverland, where the pirates take shore leave and interact with the dangerous natives. "Other Islands" looks at generosity in usual, and unusual, forms.
"The Wider World: Book Four of the Hook & Jill Saga" takes the company abroad to Europe where, to counter the consequences of her tales, Jill applies all her artifice, forging alliance with other women in her world. Below a turbulent surface, the story stirs currents of motherhood, of women supporting one another…and Time’s inescapable trick of aging.
Five books are charted for the "Hook & Jill" Saga. Keep a weather eye for Book Five, "The Ever-After End." Anchored in the Neverland, Andrea Jones’ literary series examines humanity through the magical lens of fairy tale.
Jones' short stories can be found in various anthologies. “Deeper Creatures,” appears in "The Sea" (Crossroad Press); "Smooth Criminal" appears in "Lyrical Darkness." All of Jones' books are available on Kindle and as conventional books.
Jones is the editor of classic restoration projects: J.M. Barrie’s "Peter and Wendy: the Restored Text;" and "Prince of Thieves" and "Robin Hood the Outlaw" by Alexandre Dumas; and "The Virgin of the Sun" by H. Rider Haggard (all from the Reginetta Press). Find these old, beloved stories as Kindle e-books or in paperback editions.
Graduated from the University of Illinois, Jones holds a B.A. in Oral Interpretation of Literature. She has worked at PBS, CBS, and corporate television studios.
Jones is known around the world as "Capitana Red-Hand" of the web-based pirate brotherhood, Under the Black Flag. She is also a member of the reenactment troupe, The Brethren of the Great Lakes, serving as Scribe to the crew of Le Pardonne.
