Pirates, amateur assassins, bold treasure hunters, care free drug and gun smugglers, counterfeiters and bizarre people doing strange things made up the population of adventurers of the early 60's that found their way into paradise and, "Fearless Fred's Frigorific Fraternity," better known as Fred's bar, at the Yacht Haven Marina in St. Thomas.

There were Black Panthers, movie stars, rock musicians, and a wide variety of well known writers, artists, and industrialists that added to the mix of entertaining characters. Caribbean Bones is the first book in a collection of short stories that chronicle living in St. Thomas. It's about those friends, nefarious acquaintances, a few colorful scoundrels and others who added excitement to the experience of living, loving, working, and sailing in the US and British Virgin Islands.

I began serious writing in 1977as Managing Editor of Caribe News and Reviews, a Florida based adventure and travel magazine. I have received critical acclaim for his best selling short stories which have appeared in two editions of, "In Good Company;" Chesapeake Bay Writers, "Critics Choice;" Mexican-English magazine, "El Ojo del Lago,"published in Chapala, Mexico, and British E-Magazines, "Hackwriters," and "Magnus."

I worked with famed folk singer and songwriter, Glenn Yarbrough on his "Through a Lighthouse Window," for later release and an internet project with Delta Collins, song writer for famous rock bands of Cream and Mountain.

My first book of short stories, "Midnight Gates," won a USA Book News award in 2007.
