Dr. Nellie Deutsch Editor

Nellie Deutsch (Ed.D) is a Canadian education technologist and curriculum and instruction consultant who combines technology with mindfulness awareness practice and team peer-based learning. She mentors teachers on how to teach online in blended, and face-to-face programs with and how manage Moodle courses and Moodle sites. She’s internationally known as a relationship-based academic and doctoral dissertation writing coach, researcher, author, speaker, community builder, and instructional designer. She organizes fully online and blended learning programs using Moodle, ZOOM and alternatives (Jitsi, Congrea, GoBrunch, Google Meet, MS Teams, BBB), PoodLL, Kahoot, Quizlet, Google drive and active learning presentation tools (Screencast-o-matic) that focus on teaching as a way to learn.

Dr. Deutsch is the founder of Integrating Technology (IT4ALL) professional development network (2006 - 2020), Moodle for Teachers (M4T) (2009 - 2020), Connecting Online (CO09-CO20), and Moodle MOOT Virtual Conferences (MMVC11-20). Her speaking engagements include technology for instruction and learning, collaborative learning and the change process, mindfulness, self-compassion, team peer-based learning, and teacher supportive learner autonomy.

Nellie offers free Moodle training courses for teachers and administrators of Moodle. She also organizes MOOCs, and free online conferences, webinars, and courses for educators worldwide. She’s been teaching English as a foreign language in high school and higher education for 40 years. She is currently on the coordinating team of Electronic Village Online (EVO) TESOL.
