Dilafruz R. Williams

Dilafruz Williams, PhD, grew up in Mumbai, India and is Professor at Portland State University, Portland, Oregon. She is co-founder of the Learning Gardens Laboratory. She was elected city-wide and served on the Portland Public School Board, 2003-2011.

Recipient of several awards, Dilafruz has written extensively on environmental education, service-learning, and learning gardens. Her passion is gardening. In 2014 she was awarded a three-year National Science Foundation grant for Science in the Learning Gardens, a project for middle level students.
