Jeongrye Choi

Jeongrye Choi was born in 1955, near Seoul. she studied Korean literature at college and published seven poetry/essay books. Jeongrye received Phd in Korean Modern Poetry from Korea University. She participated International Writing Program as a poet at University of Iowa in 2006 and stayed in one year at University of California in Berkley as a visiting scholar in 2009. She was awarded three times in Korean poetry society including the most prestige award from the Korean Modern Literature Award. Her poems were published in Japanese literature magazins, Free Verse and Iowa Review. She is currently teaching at Korea National University of Art.
