Lisa Ferentz is a clinical social worker and psychotherapist who has been in private practice for over 30 years, specializing in adolescent and adult survivors of trauma, abuse and neglect. Ferentz presents workshops, lectures, and keynote addresses nationally and internationally, and is a clinical consultant to private practitioners, domestic violence programs and mental health agencies. She has been an Adjunct Faculty member at several universities, and is Founder and President of The Ferentz Institute, formerly known as The Institute for Advanced Psychotherapy Training and Education, Inc., an organization that has been providing continuing education classes and Certificates in Advanced Trauma Treatment to mental health professionals for over 8 years. In 2009, she was voted "Social Worker of the Year" by the Maryland Society for Clinical Social Work.
