Sue Sorensen

Sue Sorensen lives in Winnipeg, where she teaches English at Canadian Mennonite University. Born in Saskatchewan, she was educated at the University of Regina (BA, 1985) and University of British Columbia (MA, 1993; PhD, 1999). She is the author of a novel, A Large Harmonium (Coteau, 2011), winner of Best First Book at the Manitoba Book Awards, and the editor of West of Eden: Essays on Canadian Prairie Literature (CMU Press, 2008). Her first poetry collection, Acutely Life, will be published by At Bay Press in 2024.

In 2015 Sue Sorensen published The Collar: Reading Christian Ministry in Fiction, Television, and Film (Cascade). Her essays are included in The Saint John's Bible and Its Tradition: Illuminating Beauty in the Twenty-First Century (Wipf & Stock, 2018), State(s) of the Art: Considering Poetry Today (Königshausen & Neumann, 2010), and Approaches to Teaching Henry James’s Daisy Miller and The Turn of the Screw (MLA, 2005).
