Oliver Heckmann

Since studying Architecture in Berlin and London Oliver has practised as an architect - on big and small schemes, on both real and conceptual themes, on projects of Berlin and Amsterdam firms and on his own designs.

He has been teaching at the TU Berlin and its Institute for Design and Construction as an Assistant Professor. Oliver devised and implemented Design Classes in Bachelor and Master Courses, workshops and field trips. He lectured and researched, organised seminars and issued publications.

In his office HAHOH Haas Heckmann Architects in Berlin, he conducts public and residential projects both as new buildings and conversions. Rreferences include conversion studies for former military and industrial facilities, low-energy houses, innovative residential buildings with flexible floor plans and collaborative housing projects.

In 2010 and 2011 Oliver edited the completely revised and expanded edition of "Floor plan Manual Housing" in collaboration with Friederike Schneider - one of the essential standard works on housing - for Birkhäuser Actar publishers.
