Dr. Valerie Willman

My name is Valerie Willman. I live on the Island of Kauai in Hawaii and have been married to Mark Willman, awesome man of God, for 21 years on June 30,

2011. Mark and I have fought some impossible battles, yet claimed the victory through our faith in Jesus Christ. The most recent battle was with breast cancer. I was diagnosed with inter-ductal carcinoma in May of 2008. By the grace of God and the prayers of the saints, I am healed. During this amazing journey through cancer that God allowed into our lives, it became clear that he desired me to journal about my experiences. I am astounded at how shrewdly God incorporated many miracles from my lifetime into this journal to demonstrate his love, truth and faithfulness. I believe that the Lord intends to use this writing project to communicate his encouragement and hope. I dedicate this journal to his purpose, for his glory.

A few facts that are interwoven into the journal:

I have a Ph.D. in Psychology from Purdue University and a respecialization in Clinical Psychology from Illinois Institute of Technology. I have practiced as a Psychologist for 24 years. I am Board Certified as a Professional Christian

Counselor by the International Board of Christian Counselors and am currently licensed in the State of Hawaii as a Clinical Psychologist. I am a 27 time National Champion and a 5-time "Grand National/World Champion" in the sport of Baton Twirling. I am Purdue University's 13th "Golden Girl" (Head Majorette of the All American Marching Band, and representative of Purdue University from 1983-1987). My husband and I were separated for 2 and ½ years of our 21 year marriage and by God's divine intervention, our marriage was restored in 1996.

In the past 7 years since moving to Kauai I have claimed victory through the grace and mercy of God over: a spinal cord injury, an angioplasty of the iliac artery, and a diagnosis of two types of breast cancer.
