Sara McGaughy

Matilda Mae is the first book by Sara McGaughy. Like the book's main character, Mrs. McGaughy's first dog was adopted from an animal shelter. After her dog passed away, the author wanted to do something to both honor her memory and educate young readers and their parents about the issue of homeless pets and animal adoption.

The author will donate a portion of the proceeds from this book to animal shelters.
