I'm a former Crime Scene Investigator turned Crime Writer.
I'm a boy who was enthralled by 'The Hobbit' when a teacher read it to the class, and who was inspired by that to become a writer of Fantasy.
I'm a teenager who discovered Science Fiction in the school library, and who is now a Science Fiction writer.
I'm a father who wrote stories for his sons, and a husband who wrote poems for his wife.
I'm a day dreamer who's never stopped dreaming. I just write it down to share.
I began making up stories before I could write, and it's a habit I've never got out of! Throughout a varied career - seaman in the Royal Navy, store-man, janitor, missionary, administrative assistant and CSI (to mention the highlights!) I've never stopped day-dreaming plots, characters and scenes. And occasionally writing them down!
This has produced a number of books in various genre's, mostly crime and fantasy. If you enjoy realistic crime fiction, you might like my first novel, 'Can of Worms', or the 'Local' series, beginning with 'Local Poet'. Or if you like fantasy, you could try my 'Empire of Silence' trilogy. So far, only the first two books have been published (The Empress's Lover' and 'The Hidden Libraries') but the final volume (The Fortress of Silence} is completed and should be out later this year.
I've also written several short story collections in crime, fantasy and science fiction, and children's fantasy (under the pen name of Henry Linden).
I live in Cheshire, UK with my wife and two dogs. My wife often helps with editing: the dogs, not so much, though they can be very inspiring.
