Scott Eacott

Scott Eacott (PhD) is an educational administration theorist, Director of the Office of Educational Leadership in the School of Education at the University of New South Wales and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Educational Administration at the University of Saskatchewan. He is widely published with research interests and contribution falling into three main areas: educational admnistration and leadership theory and methodology; school leadership preparation and development, particularly university-based programs; and reconceptualising strategy in the educational administrative context. His contribution to educational administration theory and methodology centres on the development of a relational approaches to scholarship. In the area of teaching educational administration his work includes a wide-ranging critical examination of policy and practice, especially in the context of the advancing managerialist project of the state. His contribution to reconceptualising strategy includes innovative applications of Bourdieusian perspectives to challenge rationalist models of decision making and planning.
