R.W. Finlan

Richard William Patrick Finlan was born in 1950, near Newport in South Wales. He is married to Josanne and has two daughters, Sinead and Kelly, and two grandsons, Iestyn and Ieuan.

Having had a varied career ranging from apprentice butcher, to chemical process technician, Richard's most enjoyable working time was at the Pontypool Free Press, where he worked as Sports/Features editor for two years.

Richard plays blues and classical guitar, writes poetry (several published in national anthologies). He is also co-author of Weird Tales From Wales, a collection of spoof newspaper pages, which he wrote with friend and former Free Press colleague, Darren Powis.

Richard also makes models of WW2 fighting vehicles. He likes the history of WW2, along with Roman history, sci-fi, fantasy, horror and is an avid reader.

Richard wants to retire somewhere warm, where he can laze around and do very little, except drink wine and smoke good cigars.
