Scott Peters

My name is Scott Peters and I've published The 12th Disciple book. While attending Texas Tech University, I fell in love with story telling and the writing process. I majored in Psychology and minored in English. Looking back on the past 20 years, I'm very pleased that I decided to focus on English as a core curriculum to my studies at TTU. I even had the honor of serving as a co-author for a journal article published in Roux's Archives during my undergraduate work.

The 12th Disciple was a challenge to write. I wanted to introduce an original concept while invoking new, and somewhat controversial, ideas. I was baptized Presbyterian and converted to Catholicism in my adult years. My wife had two children from a previous marriage and they were all Catholic. I figured my conversion would be much easier than theirs and took the path of least resistance.

I've been blessed to have remarkable success in the business world. I became a Vice President of a multi-hundred million dollar company at 35 years of age. Because my fast track was premature (knowing what I now know), and I didn't care much for the executive culture of the company I worked with, I left a six figure income with nothing lined up. I started all over at the bottom. I took a part-time job at Costco and was assigned to the media department. I enjoyed stocking games, DVDs, and books in a brand new location. After reading several front and back covers, and being around a stimulating environment of ideas and entertainment, I developed the premise for The 12th Disciple. The book took two years to research and write.

The illustration for the book was creatively done by a local high school art student in Colorado Springs. My family members helped with the editing process and provided me great ideas for future installments in the series. I have a wife of 14 years, 3 wonderful children, 2 dogs, and a cat (the inspiration for the main character's pet). Thanks for taking the time to stop by. God Bless and happy hunting for your next great read; hopefully you'll consider The 12th Disciple for your library!
