I began writing as a contributor to TheDigitel Charleston, a local media aggregator, in late 2009. My only background for doing so was a keen interest in digital media, the evolution of how people consume information, and a deep, abiding love for craft beer (you could call me a beer geek) and our growing local beer culture. It turned out to be a great fit and has strengthened my relationships within the local craft beer scene, and brought me opportunities such as this book.
My educational background is in Economics (College of Charleston, and University of South Carolina post-grad) & Corporate Communication (College of Charleston), and I work for an industrial distributor, which couldn’t be further from beer or writing but keeps my head balanced.
In addition to reading about, talking about, writing about, learning about, and drinking beer, I enjoy digital media (@CHSBeer), local food (cooking & consuming), comic books, film, live music & comedy, animation, the occasional video game, and have recently started running, begrudgingly. I dabble in, but am horrible at, homebrewing.
