Melissa Lane

I am the Class of 1943 Professor of Politics at Princeton University, having taught previously in the Faculty of History in the University of Cambridge, where I had studied philosophy. I've also been appointed to a three-year term (alongside my Princeton duties) as the Professor of Rhetoric at Gresham College: a non-degree-granting institution which has offered free public lectures in English in London since 1597. I love to discuss and write about political ideas, drawing on ancient Greek and Roman sources, in all kinds of academic, public, and community contexts.
