G.S Engle

Greg Engle is a published award winning sportswriter who spent 23 years combined active and active reserve military service, much of that in and around the Special Operations community. He served in support of Operation Just Cause, Desert Shield/Storm and ended his military career in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Greg has worked fulltime for the Sporting News and written for Scripps-Howard News Service. His articles have been published in major publications across the country including the Los Angeles Times, the Cleveland Plain Dealer and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was also a contributor to Chicken Soup for the NASCAR Soul, published in 2010 and Chicken Soup for the Soul Christmas edition in 2016. He also wrote The Nuts and Bolts of NASCAR: The Definitive Viewers' Guide to Big-Time Stock Car Auto Racing published by Skyhorse in 2017. His awards include an Americanism Award in the US Air Force in 1988, and National Motorsports Press award in 2006, 2010, and 2015.
