If I had to guess, I'd say I've spent at least 50 years of my life trying to find myself. I am happy to report that I finally did. I didn't start looking until I was 13, so if you're trying to do the math, that makes me 63.

When people ask me what I "do" -- meaning my profession -- I usually tell them I'm a PR guy, because I've worked in PR for the past 30 years. But, for me, 30 is enough, so now I tell people I am a retired PR guy. If I'm feeling particularly brave, I will sometimes add, "...and author."

I was born in Denver and spent most of my life there. Today I split my time between Denver and Palm Springs.

I was married for almost 14 years and have two amazing kids. My daughter is married and lives in Nashville. My son is also married and lives in New York City. I have three beautiful granddaughters.

One of the nice things about growing older is that people seem to stop asking about your past -- i.e., "where did you go to school...what do you do for a living..." etc. My theory on this is that as you age, people become less concerned about your past and more concerned about whether or not you'll make it through another day. When I was younger, when people asked me where I went to college, I had to reluctantly admit that I am a four-time college drop-out. That isn't to say I didn't like school. I liked it a lot, obviously. I racked up almost 7 years of undergraduate work, but never bothered getting a degree (I kept changing my major.) I could never figure out exactly what I wanted to do, so I finally quit and went to work. My alma maters include the University of Denver and the University of Colorado, but no diploma.

I did well in business, however. One of my favorite jobs was giving away money for a large corporation, which made me very popular. At one time I was on the board of directors of thirteen non-profit organizations. Today I am on the boards of the Learning Source in Denver and the Palm Springs Writers Guild.

I like to travel and am a big movie fan.

I've always been a writer of sorts -- in the P.R. business, it's pretty fundamental. I took the plunge and started writing fiction just this year. Now I can't stop. I've just published a short -- sort of a "novella" -- as an e-book only. Also, the sequel to "Makeovers" is well underway.
