S.H. Ford

S.H. Ford is an author and illustrator who has competing loves in art and history. Growing up, her parents took her to battlefields of the American Revolution and War Between the States. Inheriting this love for history and then some, she preferred travelling to Gettysburg and living history farms such as Sturbridge Village over going to Disneyland. She began living history at 16, a hobby that she takes seriously even today. This love of history inspired her written series, Grayback, about a young Confederate soldier who follows the lesser known path of the veterans who after the war went abroad to fight in foreign wars. She also works as a professional artist in the Western Art circuit and has done some illustration work for Pelican Publishing, mainly for titles that required a knowledge of historical detail. She has degrees in both history and art, and has attended both Stephen F. Austin State University and Texas Woman's University.
