Myles Beskind is one lucky son of a bitch (no disrespect to his late mother), and not just because he's beaten cancer twice. No, his luck started way back in 1991 when somebody at a big CPA firm assigned Marcie to work for him on an audit. She hated him. But a few months and more than a few drinks later, things had improved. Together, they are proud to have three wonderful kids, and zero not-so-wonderful ones.
Cancer led Myles to rediscover writing, first through his blog, then through his first book, Welcome to the Club! Surviving Cancer, One Laugh at a Time. He mistakenly thought the longer the title, the more he would be paid. He hopes one day to be invited to speak about humor and cancer to a group of doctors, just so he can make them all put on short, thin robes and sit in a cold auditorium, waiting for a very long time for him to appear on stage .
His next project is another attempt at humor, this time with a book about running, tentatively titled Any Porta-Potty in a Storm and Other Lessons Learned in a Lifetime of Running. See, long titles rule!
Stay tuned!
