Kelly H. Zou, PhD, PStat®, ASA Fellow, is CEO, Co-Founder, AI4Purpose Inc. She is the President of the American Statistical Association's (ASA) New York City Metropolitan Area Chapter and the Executive Committee Member of the ASA's Caucus of Industry Representatives. She is also the Health Information Technology's Advisor Committee and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Expert Group member, AcademyHealth.
She was Head, Global Medical Analytics, Real World Evidence and Health Economics & Outcomes Research, Viatris Inc. (merged from Pfizer Inc.). At Pfizer, she was Vice President, Medical Analytics & Insights (MAI), R&D and Medical, Upjohn Division; Senior Director, Real World Data Methods & Algorithms Group Lead, Global Real World Evidence (GRWE) Center of Excellence (COE); Analytics Lead, Real World Data & Analytics (RWDnA) Center, Statistics Lead, Statistical Center for Outcomes, Real-World & Aggregate Data (SCORAD). Earlier, she was an Associate Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School, Director of Biostatistics at Harvard's teaching affiliates, and Associate Director of Rates at Barclays Capital. Dr. Zou is an Accredited Professional Statistician and an elected Fellow of the ASA.
She received both an MA and a PhD degree in Statistics from the University of Rochester, following a BA in Mathematics (Summa Cum Laude) with a Minor in Physics. She completed joint Postdoctoral Fellowships in both Health Care Policy and Radiology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Zou has published approximately 140 peer-reviewed articles listed via PubMed. Recently, she was featured as an Outstanding Woman in Data Analytics by Forbes, an Inspirational Women in Statistics & Data Science by Wiley and the Royal Statistical Society, and an Accomplished Woman in Statistics and Data Science by the ASA. Her health care policy research focuses on the design and analysis of multi-center health quality of care studies, as well as development of improved methods for accuracy and reliability measures. Her statistical methodological work has focused on outcomes research and evaluations of complex high-dimensional imaging and big observational data. She has expertise and experience in a wide variety of therapeutic areas and organ systems, including Oncology, Cardiovascular Diseases, Radiology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Musculoskeletal Medicine, Urology, Surgery, etc.

Her work on ROC analysis has led her to be the recipient of the Stauffer Award for the best article published in "Academic Radiology." She received multiple Prizes in the ASA Biopharmaceutical Section’s Poster Competitions and the Second Prize in the Statistical Significance Contests, and the Poster Finalist Award from the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research Conference. She received Editor’s Recognition Awards for Reviewing with Special Distinction for “She was the winner of the Chief Data and Analytics Officers’ Forum’s Future Thinking Award and Reuters Events Pharma USA’s Most Valuable Data & Insights Initiative Team Award. Reviewer with Special Distinction for "Radiology” across several years, as well as reviewer award for "Academic Radiology." In addition, she was twice the recipient of the Travel Stipend Award from the Society of Health Services Research in Radiology. She is a Reuters Trailblazer and winner of the Reuters Best Data Project, AI100, Top 100 Data & Analytics Professional, Top 100 Data & Analytics Team, and CPhI Awards,
She has been an Associate Editor for "Statistics in Medicine" and "Radiology" (Radiological Society of North America), as well as an Editorial Board Member for "Significance" (the Royal Statistical Society and the ASA) and a Deputy Editor for "Academic Radiology" (Association of University Radiologists). She was one of the Mathematics and Statistics Theme Editors for "Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, Series A", which is the oldest scientific journal in the English-speaking counties. She has been a Referee for multiple peer-reviewed professional statistical and medical journals.
