Mike Hurley

Mike Hurley (John Michael Hurley, born John Mathias Geretschlaeger)is a former lieutenant commander, U.S. Naval Reserve, having served over ten years on active service, including duty in Viet Nam, and three additional years as a Ready Reservist. As a civilian he has been a law enforcement executive, a human services executive, and is an Associate Professor of English, Emeritus, at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts, where although retired and in his seventies, he still teaches part time. His special areas of expertise are technical writing and the short story. He is a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (his paternal grandfather was a member of the 19th Regiment of Wisconsin Volunteers), and in his spare time serves as Postmaster General of Tetraterra.

While most of his work is as by Mike Hurley, he has written under a score of pseudonyms for various genres and purposes.
