Rick Bylina (1953-2054) was born on a snowy night in New Jersey (or so he was told) and expects to die, "...wailing against that goodnight...," with keyboard in his lap. But for now, he lives with his wife on five wooded acres where his imagination roams wild and free in Apex, North Carolina, USA. Writing happens between housework, gardening (flower and vegetable), cooking, chopping wood, fishing, and wrestling alligators. His writing motto—The only rule: writers write! After a career as a technical writer and project manager, ongoing corporate downsizing convinced him to tap into his passion. He scribbled any crazy idea that crossed his mind. After gaining discipline, he finished his debut mystery novel, “One Promise Too Many,” the first in a series, featuring Detective Roger Stark. It took nineteen years from first word to publication. Next was highly acclaimed “A Matter of Faith” written in thirty-three days during NANOWRIMO. “All of Our Secrets” was his third mystery novel. "Kill All Cats" is his latest mystery novel (June 2016). it was voted fifth in the 2016 best mysteries category on the Preditors and Editors website. "Paper or Plastic? The Grocery Store Chronicles" is his memoir (October 2016) about working as a senior citizen in a grocery store as the night cashier. He also wrote a flash fiction collection “Bathroom Reading—Short Stories for Short Visits” for no particular reason. His former #1 best-selling poetry book, “Poems for a Platypus,” came out in 2013. Platypi gave it two fins up.
