John Ling

John Ling was formerly a children’s librarian, and then a teacher of the deaf. Until July 2010 he was a teacher in the Autism Outreach Service in Kirklees.

In 2006 he published a book of social stories called “I can’t do that!” (Lucky Duck) In 2010 another book “Social stories for kids in conflict” (Speechmark) These both went into second editions. A book of poems called “Alice the healer” (Authorhouse) a biographical account of a plucky lady who suffered from Rheumatoid arthritis and Menieres disease. Short stories - The paper aeroplane man, 2016 and more short stories Mrs Loud and Mrs Quiet, 2020 much of which comes out of his work as a mediator.

He now divides his time between mediation and conflict resolution, mainly with adults, writing poetry and stories
