Hugh Carthy

Hugh Carthy was born in Co. Longford, Ireland. After working for 35 years in the public and private sectors in Ireland and the Middle East, he published his first book, "Burren Archaeology - A Tour Guide" in May, 2011. Currently working in the tourism industry, this book combines his interest in archaeology with his work providing private guided tours throughout his native country.

Hugh's second publication is a translation to modern English of John Stuart Mill's well-known essay "On Liberty", published in 1859. Motivated by a desire to make one of Mill's most important works more accessible to modern audiences, this is the first of a series of publications intended to encourage critical thinking about a range of issues affecting society.
