Robert McGowan

Robert McGowan's short fictions and essays are published in over six dozen prominent literary journals internationally. His work has been several times nominated for the Pushcart Prize and several times anthologized.

He is the author of 'NAM: Things That Weren't True and Other Stories' (Meridian Star Press), a collection of short stories derived of the author's experience during and after the Vietnam War, and the large-format 'Stories from the Art World (Thumbnail Press), a group of eight fictions accompanied by images from McGowan's own artwork, used in this collection as the work of the author's imagined artist characters. McGowan is the author also of additional published and forthcoming books of fiction and nonfiction.

As an artist, McGowan's work is in numerous private, corporate, and public collections, including Bank of America, Bank of Korea, the Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM), Smithsonian Institution, and has appeared as interior portfolios and on the covers of literary journals worldwide.
