Linda Perkins

Linda Perkins, a native of Carrollton, Mississippi, has spent most of her adult life in the classroom, teaching others to use the English language effectively and efficiently. Recently retired, she has now found time to write something besides constructive criticism on students' papers and hopes that this book will be the first of several.

She holds a master's degree from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, and was also a National Board Certified Teacher in Early Adolescent English Language Arts. In 2000 she was the Teacher of the Year for Winona Public Schools, and she has been selected as a Mississippi Economic Council STAR Teacher five times. Her teaching assignments included, at one time or another, every level from fifth grade through college freshman composition.

Linda is married to Don Perkins, and they have three adult children, as well as six grandchildren. She acknowledges the nurture of her parents as the reason for any success in her life, and particularly for the inspiration to write this book.
