Dominique Jongbloed

Born on April 20, 1958 in Brussels, Belgium, in the Royal district of Laeken, near the Atomium of the Universal Exhibition (the author is nevertheless French), Dominique JONGBLOED meets adventure and an unusual life from the age of six and a half.

His parents and his four brothers and sisters settle in 1966 in the South of France, in MARSEILLE before the family settles permanently in AIX EN PROVENCE in 1968.

Dominique will study there with the Jesuits of Timond David where he will win a first prize in writing before joining the Sacré Cœur, a Catholic establishment that he will leave in 1975 to enter the prestigious Lycée MIGNET which had as famous students (among others): Mirabeau, Portalis, Paul Meurisse, Paul Cézanne, Emile Zola, Marcel Pagnol ... among others. It was there that a French teacher, Mr. Fernandez, spotted his talents for writing and encouraged him in this direction. This teacher would be a mentor to him. He would form the author's mind in Belles Lettres.

After a stint in the French Navy, where he served in the Naval Air Force, he became an instructor for the Marine Military Preparations for a while before finally ceasing this activity to launch himself into the world of Business but also study trips.

Dominique JONGBLOED is curious about life, thirsty for knowledge, passionate about Geography, the History of Humanity and its civilizations. From 1983 to today, he founded several companies that he developed to finance his travels, wrote many books (more than 40), all published by publishers.

He undertook an exploration of the World, starting in 1981 a tour of Europe by motorbike, traveled the world for forty years and, from 2003 to 2006, he undertook a world tour in search of the origins of Man and his civilizations.

During this period he acquired, through his travels and expeditions, a great deal of knowledge on many countries and studied all the unexplained remains covering the planet.

In 2007, he brought together his work on vanished civilizations in a book "Antédiluviennes Civilisations", published by ABM éditions, and which quickly became a success in bookstores and then in the Book before becoming a standard throughout the world, with more than 360,000 copies sold from 2007 to 2024. He is recognized by his peers as a writer - great traveler and by the entire Press.

In 2011, he published with his friend, Erick SURCOUF, great-grandnephew of Robert SURCOUF, the famous corsair from Saint-Malo, "Sunken Treasures and Lost Cities" and founded NORDSUD INSTITUTE, a foundation for the promotion of Adventure and Exploration which will migrate to the USA in 2015.

2016 is the year of assessment and choices for the future. He then embraces a new career: that of screenwriter, producer but also actor!

Since 2015, he has produced an extraordinary literary saga, SHAMBALA, based on real events, in various forms: In addition to being published, this saga is recorded as a radio novel and is even being filmed as a TV movie! Other projects are in progress for television and cinema!
