IMPERIAL NIGHTFALL SERIES

The Imperial Nightfall Series is a family history of the 20th Century. Based on the letters and journals of two previous generations of my family, it offers context on the decline and fall of the British Empire, seen through the prism of mundane family life. The people are gone, the Empire is gone, the countries’ names have changed. What we have left is the spider’s web of memoirs and correspondence. It's a set of primary historical accounts by people who were on the scene, at that moment, expressing their feelings and thoughts, often unaware of the magnitude of the events that were surrounding them. Nothing much seems to be happening but, in the background, everything is happening. The ordinary is, in fact, extraordinary.
