Joe Brown

Joe Brown lives in the Village of Lincolnwood, IL, with his wife, Lola.

He was an attorney in Chicago for 50 years before embarking on a writing career at age 70. "Bop," as he is known in his family, starting writing these stories for his children in the 1960s. After retiring from law, he began writing about Marceau's adventures once again. There are now six books in the "Flights of Marceau" series including Joe's first novel, "The Legend of Leadwood."

Joe's favorite activity these days, other than writing his stories, is reading them to students. At each reading, Joe first introduces Marceau to the class, after which he reads one of his marvelous adventures. This is followed by a discussion about imagination, writing, and even a little rhyming.

Joe's first question to the children is always the same: "Does anyone here know what imagination is?" And all their hands shoot up in the air.
