Ann Wilkes

Ann Wilkes is the pen name for Ann Hutchinson.

Ann grew up on a steady diet of fantasy and science fiction and proceeded to write some of her own, beginning in her teens. She even remembers relating a story for her mother to dictate when she was five or six. Most of her science fiction leans toward tragic, funny or both. She also writes memoir and the occasional article or mainstream story. Her favorite form is flash (under 1,000 words). Perhaps it's the instant gratification, but it taught her to be cleverly concise. Now she uses that skill as a marketing copywriter by day, and dispenses words of encouragement, hope and inspiration at cleverann.net.

Ann lives in California's beautiful wine country, where she can drive to the redwoods, the beach or San Francisco in 45 minutes and partner dance to phenomenal, local live music with her husband Kevin.

When not writing or dancing, Ann enjoys walking in nature, reading, listening to music, and enjoying a glass of Sonoma County wine, a cup of tea or a good single malt scotch.
