Amy A. Corron was born and raised in southeastern Michigan, the youngest of seven daughters. She spent eight years showing horses and ponies in local horse shows and the county fair. After graduating from Bedford High School in 1981 she attended Davis College, where she earned an Associates Degree in Fashion Merchandising. Despite her college degree, Amy had always dreamed of a career in writing. After college Amy joined the United States Army in 1984 where she was trained in journalism at the Defense Information School at Fort Benjamin-Harrison, IN. She worked as a journalist for Inside the Turret, the post newspaper of Fort Knox, KY, where she won several awards for her journalism. She met and married her husband Mark while in the service. The two have three adult children. Amy enjoys traveling, but her favorite place is the small northern Michigan town of Atlanta. It is where she spent her childhood summers and now she and her husband own a cabin there. She has chosen it as the setting of her Northwoods Adventures Series. When not writing Amy enjoys teaching preschool, scrapbooking, trying new recipes and hiking with her husband and pet beagles in the woods of northern Michigan. She is a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Detroit Red Wings, and the Toledo Walleye hockey team.
