I am a retired anesthesiologist having worked at the Stanford University School of Medicine from 1977 until 2021. Although I've published several medical textbooks on thoracic anesthesia and anesthesia for morbid obesity, I've enjoyed writing my non-clinical books ("Lazy Man's Guide to Millions", "Publish, Don't Perish!" series #1-4, and "All the News NOT Fit to Print" #1-3) the most. Fortunately, I had my long time friend and colleague, John Brock-Utne to help me with several. These books are humorous looks at some very serious problems - the '4-1-9' e-mail scam (Lazy Man's Guide), publishing in predatory journals to advance your academic career (Publish, Don't Perish! series), and the biased new media (All the News). My latest two books ("The Early History of Anesthesia at Stanford -1909-1972" and "Anesthesia at Stanford - The Larson Years 1972-1982") describe the people and accomplishments of the anesthesia department at Stanford. I hope you enjoy reading these books as much as I enjoyed writing them.
