Matthew Robb

Author Matthew Z. Robb has been on an unlikely journey of his own. In high school he was an all-state golfer on a team that won two state championships. He went on to Ferris State University to major in professional golf management with a goal of becoming a golf instructor.

In 2004, things changed. George W. Bush was reelected President of the United States, and Matthew realized that he was taking classes in accounting and business management. It was going to be hard to change the world by teaching people how to fix their golf slice.

He found his voice on the Obama campaign. In 2007, he left Michigan State University to become and intern for the Iowa caucas staff. He was hired as an organizer and saw the world changing before his eyes as Barack Obama became the unlikely Deomocratic nominee.

On the Michigan campaign staff in the general election of 2008 he saw dream become reality as Barack Obama was elected the first African American President in U.S. history.

Matthew finally graduated from MSU in 2009 at the age of 24 with degrees in history, political theory, and constitutional democracy. Two weeks after graduation he began authoring his first book with and about his father Dean Robb. age 86.

In 2010 he was accepted into the Teach for America program in downtown Detroit teaching middle-school social studies. He continues his quest to make an impact on the world. Robb's first book, Dean Robb: An Unlikely Radical, was winner of the best historical biography category of the Indie Excellence Awards of 2011.
