Michael P. Ford

Dr. Michael P. Ford is professor emeritus from the Department of Literacy and Language in the College of Education and Human Services at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. He spent twenty-nine years working on reading issues and ideas with both preservice and inservice teachers. He has worked with educators in 44 states. His work with the international school associations also took him to Africa, South America, Central America, Europe and the Middle East. He is a former first grade and Title I Reading teacher. He is the co-author or editor of 11 books including most recently Guided Reading: What’s New and What’s Next? from Capstone Publishing. He has also written over forty professional articles for publications like The Reading Teacher, Reading Today, Language Arts, and Reading Research and Instruction. Michael is the former president of the Wisconsin State Reading Association and its current Advocacy Chairperson.
