Sylvia M. DeSantis

A thirty-year academic and licensed holistic health provider--two wildly divergent career paths--Sylvia has published dozens of essays, poems, stories, and articles in mind/body/spirit, academic, and commercial publications, including the New York Times #1 bestselling Chicken Soup for the Soul© and Cup of Comfort© series. She has also appeared on Cynthia Brian's nationally-syndicated radio show as Grand Prize winner of the Be the Star You Are® essay contest for literacy advocates.

Sylvia holds a B.A. from Villanova University and an M.A. from Virginia Tech, and has been writing, publishing, and teaching for nearly three decades. She is active in animal rescue and lives in Pennsylvania with her partner and their rescue cat family.
