Judy Archibald

For more than twenty-five years, author Judy Archibald with more than one thousand articles published has been a feature writer and columnist for national magazines, including Wildlife Art, Art-Talk, Equine Images and Southwest Art and has also written nature articles for children's magazines.

Her first children's picture book, The Mutt & the Mustang received 1st Place USA and Canada NEXT Generation INDIE Book Award, awarded by the Independent Publishers Association-- which is really a big deal for a self published book because it won in competition with university presses and other traditional publishers.

Available in a limited geographic area -a few prestigious gift stores in northern Colorado summer tourist towns, The Mutt & the Mustang sold more than 7,500 copies in less than 3 summers.

This book is inspired by a true story of her little dog with a big heart who after making friends with a rescued horse whom he rides every day learns he is special by being himself. Video of Kody riding "his" horse available on Judy's website: petpalspublishing.com where you can also learn the back story about her rescued cats, dogs and horses.

Judy and the pets portrayed in this picture book live in Estes Park, CO, adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park. PS Kody still rides every day!
