Steve Williams

I have always loved the natural world and some of my fondest boyhood memories are of exploring the rocky shores of North Wales with my ‘Taid’ (Welsh for grandfather). Leaving school at 16, I spent 8 years at sea where I developed my affection for astronomy whilst often navigating by the stars. I then studied Marine Biology and Applied Zoology in University gaining a first class degree before training as a teacher. As a Chartered Biologist, I still love teaching and work as a part-time science teacher in a small rural high school in Wales. My two daughters who helped inspire me to write ‘The Story of Life ‘ have now left home and I live with my wife, dog and bees beneath the dark skies of Herefordshire.
