Jennifer Olvera

Jennifer Olvera--a graduate of DePaul University--has been covering Chicago food and dining for internationally recognized print publications and websites for over a decade. A contributor to the Zagat Chicago Restaurants Survey, she regularly pens stories (and tests recipes) for the Food section of Chicago Sun-Times and writes about far-flung destinations--often with an eye toward edibles--for Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Orbitz.com and Frommers.com. Jennifer also served as a dining critic for Chicago magazine. In addition to developing a longstanding recipe column for the James Beard Award-winning website, Serious Eats, she authored eight books, including the first and second edition "Food Lovers' Guide to Chicago" and "The Meat Lover's Slow Cooker Cookbook. She has also appeared on national and local news and radio as an authority on Chicago’s culinary scene. When she's not searching out great eats, you'll find Jennifer tending to her garden, canning and cooking up a storm.
