Eileen Dewar

Eileen Dewar and her brother were both born at her family's farm home between Nortonville and Winchester, KS. This was the same big white house (at that time) where her maternal grandfather and his brothers and sisters were born. Her father and his family had also lived nearby, and that is where her dad built a new house for their family, three miles west of Mooney Creek. Next they bought the farm at Farmington, KS, where the story of Fire in the Field began. The large brick house on the hill is shown and described in the book. Farm life was busy and usually fun; a total contrast to the way Eileen and her husband raised their two sons in Overland Park, KS. Today Eileen is a wife, college graduate, retired teacher, retired Realtor, caretaker of her mother and a cancer survivor who is active in her church. This first time author has no plans to write another book. When you read it you will understand why. It is filled with joy, tragedy and a life that is what happens when one makes other plans. With God's help and a series of miracles, this story became a book.
